On Monday afternoon, the professor Zhaobing came to our school and gave us the speech about Suzhou Garden. You know that Suzhou garden is very famous in the world.Suzhou garden reflect Chinese culture deeply. Professor Zhao could not introduce all the things about Suzhou garden even in nearly one hour. He just introduced the garden in general to us.
He introduced what is “garden” to us firstly by using the definition in different dictionaries. The definitions in different dictionaries in different countries have a little difference. It took her a long time. Then we knew what “garden” is clearly. Then, he showed us some pictures of the details in Suzhou garden.As he showed the pictures, he explained every structure in the picture to let us know what special things such as artificial mountain in the Suzhou garden..Suzhou garden is not only a garden , but also an magnificent artwork. It has a lot of features like the composition of artificial mountains. The garden is divided into some small gardens. Every small garden has its own feature ,too.Some small garden such as Wangshi Garden in Suzhou garden are very famous. Even all around the world. The view of the garden fits the structure very well. Workers planted very carefully. The artists designed how to use the view to fit the garden well before they started to plant these plants.He also introduced some famous artist who designed the things in the Suzhou garden to us,and showed some artwork of theirs. There are many Chinese poems are about the Suzhou garden. Professor Zhao also introduced some of the poems to us. Finally, he told us some special meaning behind these gardens, he finished the speech because of the limited time.
Actually, it is a little bit boring for me to listen all parts of the speech. You know some knowledge like the definitions of “garden” different dictionaries is really boring. I am not interested in the composition of the garden in fact, but I was interested in the meaning of the garden.Almost,every meaning of the garden has a attractive story.I listened to these stories very carefully.I believe that every artwork have its own meaning.I am interested in finding the meaning of the artwork.
In conclusion, this speech impressed me a lot and makes me know about our own garden better than before.
